Update your live site

You published a draft in step 4.3. Now replace it with your final version. (If you skipped the draft, do step 4.3 first.)

  1. Open your site in Netlify and go to Deploys.

  2. Drag your finished site folder onto the deploy area. Your URL stays the same.

  3. Test the live site on your computer and phone. Broken images now usually mean a name whose capitals don’t match, or a space in a file name.

Another option

GitHub Pages also hosts sites for free, and a GitHub account is useful to have as a designer who works with developers.

Submit

Zip your LastnameFirstInitial_triad-website folder, upload it to Canvas, and paste your live URL in the submission comment.

LastnameFirstInitial_triad-website/ ├── LastnameFirstInitial_triad-website.fig ├── LastnameFirstInitial_reflection.pdf ├── resources/ │ └── image-credits.xlsx └── site/ ├── index.html, red.html, blue.html, yellow.html ├── favicon.png ├── css/styles.css ├── js/gallery.js └── images/ logo.svg, thumbs/, large/

Present

You have 3 minutes. Show your live site on the projector and cover:

  1. Your theme and three topics
  2. Your design rationale: audience, mood, colors and fonts
  3. One design decision you are proud of
  4. One problem you solved in the build

Add the live link to your portfolio. It shows employers you can design for the web and understand how designs become code.
